StopDamp+ is a professional damp-proofing system for controlling rising damp in masonry walls. It combines a chemical damp-proof course, lateral moisture protection and an anti-salt damp-proof additive for the reinstatement plaster.
For best results, installation should be carried out by a suitably trained person following the StopDamp+ technical instructions.
How is StopDamp+ installed?
StopDamp+ is installed in seven stages. Salt-contaminated plaster is removed, holes are drilled into the visible lowest mortar course at the base of the wall and cleared of dust, and StopDamp+ Injection Cream is injected to form a chemical damp-proof course. The treated wall is then left to cure, BaseShield is applied to the lower wall, and the wall is replastered with StopDamp+ Cement Mix.
Who should install StopDamp+?

Remove Plaster
Remove damaged, salt-contaminated plaster from the affected area to expose sound masonry. The old plaster has to come off because it is full of salt, and the salt keeps causing damage even after the damp has been stopped.

Drill Holes
Using the StopDamp+ 12 mm masonry drill bit, drill holes into the visible lowest mortar course at 100 mm centres along the affected wall.

Clear Holes
After drilling, use the StopDamp+ Dust Remover Tool to clear dust and loose debris from each hole. Clean, open holes, free from significant drilling residue, let StopDamp+ Injection Cream penetrate and disperse effectively within the mortar course.

Inject Cream
Using the supplied caulking gun, inject StopDamp+ Injection Cream into each prepared hole along the mortar course. The cream disperses within the mortar course to form a continuous water-repellent barrier that helps stop rising moisture.

Cure
The treated wall is left to cure, allowing the barrier to establish fully before reinstatement begins.

Apply BaseShield
Apply StopDamp+ BaseShield by brush to the lower wall, from the floor level up to the injection line, to help prevent lateral moisture movement below the new damp-proof course.

Replaster with Cement Mix
Replaster the treated wall using StopDamp+ Cement Mix, mixed with Portland cement, clean sand and water as specified in the installer guide. Apply evenly to the prepared wall to achieve a smooth, salt-resistant finish.
